Annie I had a tissue wash not so long ago, I have a habit of putting a tissue up my sleeve
Lion I wouldnt mind if it were just a tissue. Hubby washed his work clothes the other day and left a house plan in the pocket of his trousers. I have never ever if my life seen such a mess. Now the mess is on the back lawn under the clothes line because I refused to pick it all off the clothes.
Mine is a 9.5 KG Simpson. When I went to buy a new machine I chose and ordered an 8kg model. Got home and hubby said to ring and change the order to the bigger one. Only one problem, I can't reach the bottom of the drum without standing on tippy toes. Funny thing is it cost me around $1000, but back in the 70's my first auto machine cost me around $1000, and that was a lot of dough at the time. It was a commercial machine though that the laundromats used. Only difference no coin slot, and it went nearly non stop for nearly 20 years. Good value.

Hi Katy
the Simpson washer is large , cabinets are much bigger than most other models on the market
I nearly fall into them also ......
your correct , White goods have not changed much in price in the last 20 years ,
the price is the same because 20 years ago we manufactured and hand built in this country , now the majority
of machines are mass produced out of China

Tezza it is a big thing, I can do all the towels for the two of us in one load per week. Hubby does one load of his work clothes at the end of the week, and I do one load of mine.

Katy I have a new Fisher and Paykel, not as good as the one I had for years and left with the house.
All the ones now made in China are cruddy, this new one unbalances a lot with towels
