I've just returned from an overseas trip and the folk there are shaking their collective heads at the way in which our government can so successfully manage our economy through what has been described in the past as the worst global financial crisis since the great depression approximately 80 years ago.
These people are in awe of our governments abilities and the way in which it navigated our nation through it. And now the good folk overseas witness the implosion of this so much revered government into chaos and disunity.
I have been watching the events of the last few days on T.V. whilst overseas and stepped off the plane today to hear of mass resignations of Whips, Secretaries and Ministers.
I see this as a PURGE by Labor to finally stop the constant infighting. Getting rid of the Rudd supporters who were constantly undermining the Gillard led government. Even Rudd himself has stated that he will no longer seek leadership. " Not under any cirumstance."
It was Rudd and his supporters who were leaking things to the press. Trying to undermine and cause instability to his own party because he was removed from his Prime Ministerial position caused by his own doing.
Now the new phase will be that the Labor party will huncker down and focus on the nation, it's policies and focus outward away from itself. The bloke opposite Ms Gillard ( Mr Abbott ) needs to be the main focus of the Labor party because he is found wanting in a plethora of areas.
The fund Abbott established that steered Ms Pauline Hanson to jail must be investigated fully.
The thuggery of punching walls in his youth needs to be addressed.
The disgraceful negativity that constantly undermined the Australian Government to meet his own greed. This is a form of passive thuggery in my opinion.
No need to ask for links or anything. These words are purely my opinion.
Watch out Mr Abbott, when this dust settles a stronger, much more unified government will emerge.
I shudder to think of Mr Abbott in the lodge. He will throw this nation backward 30 years.
it's good to be home.:-) back to the lucky country.

G'day Annie. Great to see you. I haven't seen a bait post thankfully.
"The thuggery of punching walls in his youth needs to be addressed." Plural?, a serial wall attacker from no less than 35 years ago , that certainly needs to be investigated. State or Federal police?, ASIO, Interpol, UN Security Council?,
Moman, evening, if you read my post again you will find that I didn't state it needed to be investigated.
I stated that Mr Abbott punching walls needed to be addressed. I.E. Does Mr Abbott have issues with temper control or issues with using force in order to intimidate other folk. I think your choice of the Federal Police et al is not relevant to my statement.

looking at the "real solutions" document by the libs is what is making things clear to me. the liberal goverment in Qld is making such a disgraceful mess, i truly dread what will happen if libs get in nationally particularly in relation to health, education and welfare, which should be any governments top priorities in my opinion.

YIA: "Moman, evening, if you read my post again you will find that I didn't state it needed to be investigated.
I stated that Mr Abbott punching walls needed to be addressed."
True YIA, but how do you "address" an alleged wall abuse incident from over 35 years ago without investigation, or do you overlook the foundation of our law, (presumption of innocence), as so far no acceptable proof has been offered yet to support the claims of terrorising walls, and to confirm/address the commission of such a heinous crime would certainly entail some investigation. I suggest a (very) cold case investigation/address, or a PTA group (Polar Terminate Abbott)

Do you really believe that?
You may have to wait a few decades for the "Labor (bull) Dust" to settle. ๐

After all the constant negative and derogatory diatribe that has been hurled at the Prime Minister of this nation for what seems like an eternity now, I am quite sure her tenacity and her unwavering enthusiasm to get the things done will prevail. A new front bench without the skullduggery from Rudd and his supporters will revitalise the party and the public will see changes much more quickly than what Liberal Party and it's supporters would like.
Not only has Ms Gillard been subjected to the most negative Opposition Leader and his party in the history of Australian Politics Ms Gillard and the Labor Party have had to weather the constant bombardment of negative smear from the Murdoch press. Also the complete misrepresentation of facts and complete distortion of anything regarding the Government from Liberal Party aligned mouthpieces like Bolt, Pickering and Ackerman. Not to mention the shock jocks like Jones and Hadlee to name a few.
Ms Gillard will force Mr Abbott to change his tactics.
Mr Abbott will destroy anything and anyone who gets in his way to be the next Prime Minister. He is a ruthless thug who only has eyes on one prize. The lodge. The country and all who dwell here are secondary to his needs.

ok, this is my first time at entering one of these Political threads (and probably my last) so be gentle with me.
I am hmmm bemused perhaps, by the statement this government has led us through the biggest global financial crisis. It's lucky that Little Johhny managed to put this country is such a good financial postion so Krudd et al had the funds to weather the GFC.
