That threat would exist regardless who was in power , to believe otherwise is just plain biased or naive Isis don't care who is in power as they truly expect to be in power themselfs here in the near future , so blame who ever you want it won't change Isis attitude towards us, we are infidels and therefor slated for extermination
majority of people do understand that -
and majority of australians support our
military intervention.
these are some of the responses to the latest
isis propaganda:
Western allies vowed a tough fight against ISIS on Monday after the terrorist group called for attacks against those countries.
"This call for the murder of civilians along with the execution of hostages and mass slaughters testifies once again, if necessary, of the terrorists' cruelty and justifies a tireless fight," French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in a statement.
The UK Home Office called the message "propaganda" and called for Internet providers to pull it down.
"The Government will not tolerate the existence of online terrorist and extremist propaganda," the office said.
The U.S. response was more muted. "We're not going to respond publicly to every new piece of ISIL propaganda," the National Security Council said.
"These latest comments from ISIL demonstrate once again that it remains more interested in pursuing its own violent and nihilistic goals rather than advancing any productive agenda for the people of Iraq or Syria. Beyond that, we don't intend to get in a back and forth with ISIL, or any other terrorist group, regarding its propaganda."

The polls were done by News Ltdm in one state. And the polling was done by landline only on a small sample. If you look at the Morgon Polls, with a larger sample and a more diverse population, they are different.
Polls can be swayed any way you want depending on who you ask. I hardly think these boards are a true sample of what the people of Australia believe.

I think if a survey was done we would find there would be a pretty restrictive sample type. To get a variation of samplying you need a very wide cross section of the community. I would think the majority of Australia doesn't even know ebay has a discussion board and the numbers posting on here are nowhere near enough for sampling.

Nero Postings - A bit over the top, but what do expect from the Murdoch Press:
Goulburn Jail: Allah is the cry in the worst riot for ten years
PRISON officers in riot gear have used tear gas to control maximum security inmates who tore apart Goulburn Jail in a racially fuelled riot ¬described as the biggest in 10 years. With shouts of “Allah Akbar”, prisoners armed with homemade weapons threatened guards and smashed through an internal fence at the state’s toughest jail, which was in lockdown yesterday. Tensions have been running high in the prison system as federal and NSW police step up their surveillance of suspected terrorists and any of their associates inside and outside prisons after the country’s terror alert was raised to high.
A source has revealed how the violence began in the maximum wing of the Goulburn facility about 3pm on Saturday when a number of ringleaders refused to line up for afternoon muster. The source said the unrest had begun as a result of some privileges being requested — and denied — for a handful of inmates, but the situation quickly turned into a full-scale riot along religious lines. They’d been knocked back something ...,” the source said. “The issue wasn’t a Muslim-related issue, but it was the Muslim guys who got into it, yelling out to Allah. “They were refusing to go into their cells. They refused to line up, then it went from there and exploded.” The prison officers had “geared-up” as soon as they sensed trouble. The riot did not involve convicted terrorists held in Goulburn’s Supermax, who remain under constant surveillance.
And today’s report in the Telegraph: “INDIGENOUS and Pacific Islander inmates were urged on by Middle Eastern offenders in Saturday’s Goulburn jail riot, sources said.”
Apparently the Indigenous and Pacific Islander inmates had their afternoon BBQ cancelled because of taunts to prison guards, and it them not the Muslims who did all the rampaging and damage .
"sources said" who are these sources?
I think hell will freeze over before the Murdoch Telegraph will admit it a Beat-up

Actions taken out of fear and hatred are nothing more than radical barbarism. I have no faith in the honesty of this government so I am unsure as to what to believe in regards to "the terrorist threat".
Living in fear of what terrorists may or may not do means that the terrorists have already won. By hating muslims only encourages further radicalisation of susceptable young men.

I can understand your fear but saying this was carried out because it's about "hating Muslims" is not right and cannot be allowd to stand.
This is a war on terrorism not a war on Muslims and your hatred and distrust for our government is political and doesn't address just what's happening all around the world.
It may make you feel better to pour scorn and distrust on our government and PM but it has nothing to do with what's happening.
The Iraqi government has invited countries in to HELP them, they are begging for help and the humanity of the world expects us all to respond.
