Good grief. Where has this woman been living?
She should surely have known as most of us here do that that's what happens to women who report rape in muslim countries.
Sharia law. Don't you just love it?
Coming to a town near you in twenty years or so?

i just read that shocking

Why is it shocking? It's a predictable response from authorities in a place like Dubai.
Revulsion and horror is appropriate, but shock? really.

i think it is shocking, even if it is what happens there.

I just get so angry with this sort of thing, it upsets me 😞

What surprises me but doesn't shock me, is that people voluntarily go to work in these countries knowing full well that their laws are barbaric and straight from the middle-ages. Maybe what is shocking is that people like this woman express surprise and outrage at their treatment there.
It's almost as if they don't read the newspapers or something, or even look out of their windows, past the camels and the dust and the flies and the oil.

Yes, how stupid this woman is. Allowing herself to be raped and then having the gall to report it to the authorities. How stupid and irresponsible she must be.
Honestly, how low can you go blaming her. Though I don't know why I'm surprised. Just sad that people still blame victims.

she's been pardoned and released. I guess they were embarrassed by the international media attention.
