Thermomix Tips

I have ordered mine today, not going to change my mind as my lovely mummy is buying it for me.

I'm interested in the more healthy side of cooking, fresh vegies and herbs etc without additives of any kind.

For those that have one, which pages and recipes do you follow?

Re: Thermomix Tips

I am working my way through the Basics Cook Book, so far, banana bread about 3 times a week, some gluten free, some sugar free etc, minestrone, spaghetti bol, lasagne, custard, sorbets, pumpkin soup, shepherds pie, curries, breads, so much more!

I love that I can mill my own GF flour with chick peas, tapioca, rice etc,

Onions, amazing chopping with no tears, lol.

Mashed potato, no effort!

My first curry, I accidently blitzed the chicken breast instead of chopping it but the children loved it! same for the chicken and mushroom risotto Woman LOL

If I get home late, dinner in 20 mins, less time than stopping at the takeaway!

So, 2 of my daughters and my sister bought theirs on Sunday and I bought a spare bowl so I can do dinner and dessert simultaneously..

Re: Thermomix Tips

I bet your niece is happy☺

I love being able to cook something with the ingredients I have in my beautifully organised  pantry and freezer. Really pleased that the pantry no longer has any packaged foods with bad additives.

Re: Thermomix Tips

Hey Donnashuggy, I was handed something as good as a TM a couple of days ago and have been experimenting with all sorts of recipes.  It is just lovely, suits me better because I don't like steaming in plastic and this one is all stainless steel (just not the lid)

I'm following a lot of the TM recipes as well as those supplied with this appliance and it does everything the other one does.

Saturday we made the beef stroganoff, today the butter chicken and wow, this kind of technology is really coming into its own.

All this can be done (apart from the actual cooking) in the food processor of course, but this takes it to a new level of incredible convenience to lifestyle which is so busy.

It's going to be a most interesting culinary journey!  ....  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Thermomix Tips

"As Joshcaro said, you don't need an appliance to eat healthy. It's a "look at me" thing and then you can brag to everybody that you have one"

That is absolutely true, no appliances are needed to eat healthy, couldn't agree more.  However, it's not a "look at me" thing either anymore than having a more powerful computer than someone else, it all depends on what the needs are for a particular purpose.

It could be argued successfully that it's about time, convenience, schedule, family needs etc etc and like anything else, room!

I would never have bought one of these machines as I am more than happy with the appliances I have.

Then again, once they (appliances) became redundant through wear and tear etc, I then might have bought something similar, but not necessarily at such a high price, but certainly one where the competition is of the same quality, as they are now to a great degree.

Re: Thermomix Tips

My sister has had a TM since they came out.

I can't afford one, but am hoping when she upgrades I may be the recipient of her old one. From what I can see they are amazing and she has become a culinery wizard since owing it - positively jealous!

Can't wait for photo's of your creations
