I find that keeping my landline on Message stops the spam callers as they just hang up. But this morning I got a first.... a long recorded message. it is obviously set to start as soon as they get the answer machine. , It went on forever and was to the tune of being the taxation dept who were about to send a copper around to arrest me for tax evasion unless I phoned back the number they gave. It was very convincing and for a moment I thought, what have I done lol. They are thinking of everything.

As I learned not to click on a link in my email, I have learned not to ring back to a number given in a phone call.
I would take the number and give it to the Police if I was you.
Also I would ring the Taxation Departement and let them know about this phone call.
Scammers will always find new ways to trap gullible people. As technology advances those criminals find new ways to rob people.

checked and i'm still on the do not call register. guess they just dont care.

They don't care because IF you call that number, they then have control
of your phone and can use it to rack up huge bills

Ask them for a callback number and then tell them you'll pass it on to ISIS

They left the call back number on the answering machine

Is that right ima? They can get control of your phone? How scary.

A friend of mine got that one recently. Her husband went into panicked melt down mode and jumped in the car to come and drag her off the golf course to sort it out. He was totally freaked about it. I think she rang the number back but haven't heard of anything more happening. They ended up reporting it to the police but that didn't go far either.
