Mental health days are for morons, says Calare Public School principal Christian Cundy

I thought it was a send up when I saw it but apparently not 😞 NSW school. I suspect he needs a mental health day to see a professional.

I disagree. I am a trained teacher and a mum of a child with a disability so I can see this from a wholistic point of view az.

This is a dedicated leader of a team that is no doubt under a lot of pressure and stress. He has made a professional error here.

Trying to use humour to lighten serious issues can have serious consequences.

His intent would not have been to make fun of anyone.

I feel for the guy actually......he will be regretting his newsletter release I am sure.

Yes, he probably needs to take some of his long service leave and take time to smell the roses IMO.

I see nothing humurous about this, from an educator.

It looks to me more likely he is in need of some help. I don't imagine the staff, parents or students who took issue with this will have much respect for him after this incident, can't be good for the school............. maybe they should trandsfer him?

maybe but I don't know the guy or the school or anything much except what is available to be read on the link you provided.

To put into context I would like to draw an anology with our Prime Minister who says and does things that IMO are not worthy of a leader of our country. e.g lies continually. Some would say that he should not be sacked or 'transferred' too for his disgraceful and disrespectful behaviour. Get my drift?

In his position one would expect that he would have the intelligence to keep such thoughts to himself.

I look after my intellectually disbabled brother. Sometimes I find myself thinking things like 'omg how hard can it be to just do (whatever)'  one would have to be a saint not to sometimes think this way.

Also he(the principal)  would encounter those who play on conditions, and parents who do claim illness for the $$$s.

I can understand his thoughts to a degree, however he has bunched them all in the same category and commented in a very unprofessional way.

I am thinking maybe there is more to this man's issues and a nervous breakdown is nigh.
