Thoughts on Maddie McCann

I just read this and tend to agree with some of the points Katie Hopkins has raised.

Would never leave my child and go out to dinner, to do it in a foreign country is just not something I could imagine doing.

Re: Thoughts on Maddie McCann

I feel the same as kopes.

I watched the interview.

Must admit, when i first heard of the case years back, my suspicion immediately went to the parents.

And when I heard they had gone out to dinner & left their children alone, I thought-slack and neglectful.

But the restaurant was just over from the units, in sight. And I presume the other families they were with did the same thing. The difference was, the McCann's unit was on the edge, closest to the road. So their children were the ones most at risk.

I would not have been happy to leave 3 young kids alone for an hour at a time, which seems to be what they did-one parent to check each hour. I do think they should have had a quick meal & got back to the unit. If they had only been gone an hour, they may not have lost their daughter.

So we can't escape the fact they made a bad choice there. They wanted their kids to have a good sleep, they wanted to stay out and dine. But a bad choice does not equal murder.

It seems Maddie was an IVF baby so presumably much wanted.

But really, if they did kill their child, where would they have taken her? that's the sticking point to me. They didn't know the country.

Some people have suggested she may have fallen out of bed and died after being sedated. If that happened, why not call a doctor? It would still be an accident and easier than trying to hide a body on the spur of the moment.

I think their child was taken by others, I think she is probably dead. I think the parents should never have left those children alone and they are lucky the twins weren't taken too. But that doesn't mean they haven't faced hell ever since because of a bad choice they made.

Re: Thoughts on Maddie McCann

It's such a pity that Portugals version of  Inspector Clouseau was in charge of the initial investigation.
