Re: Thread on Interpersonal

So did I.  Maybe the mods have their own dictionary in which 'interpersonal'

means something else entirely

Re: Thread on Interpersonal

It is not what you say but the way you say it that makes it interpersonal in an offensive way and gets the Mods offside.

Re: Thread on Interpersonal

I think the mods just have a job to do; a bit like traffic wardens.

They have to be seen to be on the job and the best way to demonstrate to their employers their vigilance and attention to duty is to snag their weekly quota . .  of traffic tickets, etc.

More often it's the way that it is interpreted -  and not what you meant in the least

Some posters' only excercise is jumping to conclusions

Re: Thread on Interpersonal

That's true Ima.  Some would see Joz's post asking for a link as wanting to know what Iza was talking about. Others would see it as a dig at Iza for the way she is often ridiculed for posting links and c&ps.  I suppose it is the way you look at it.

Re: Thread on Interpersonal

So how does it work though - how does the Mod know when to jump in and reprimand us children?

1. Do people still button push ?

2. Are keywords tagged so the mods spot them ?

3. Or are they seriously sitting at some computer in geek land just scrolling through every thread to find a fight.

that would apply to  all humans I think. All 'posters'

The thing is we aren't 'saying' we are writing .We aren't having a chat at our dinner table where hellos, pleases and thankyous are expected and where we can use other means to help interpret meaning and intend of words .We are all having a public discussion (which must have interpersonal..as we are all interacting). If something becomes personal or offensive or whatever I would expect that those 'posts' are the problem and if they are seen to be a problem those posts should be removed.

If posts are OK (remain on the boards)...why inflame, make posters feel like what's just happened IS the actually interpersonal 'dispute'  and confuse and perhaps end  a discussion and everyone who posts or wants to post ?

I look and think ...how do I continue when I can't see the reason for complaint/directives ?

It's like standing in a line at a counter where a big sign says stand here to be served and being told off for doing that and only to be told to toe the line and do the right thing ?

like what is it you want me to do ? what is the right thing ? If standing here is the wrong thing please remove/correct your sign

and let me know how I am to proceed .I don't wish to be told off for doing as instructed by that sign of yours.infact you tell me off and I may want to tell you off and point to your sign.
