Please explain just what you mean by this thread....makes no sense

this is what the mods actually said to all posters in general...
Hello, everyone. The conversation is getting off-topic. Could we please go back to the original topic regarding Australian asylum seekers ? You're welcome to start a new topic to discuss something new. Thanks very much.
and then this.....

If you want to start a new topic, you are free to do so
its quite plain the second mod was saying that thread was getting interpersonal and not suggesting a thread be started about it.
iza is just being a smart alec
i hope that helps

It been answered in this thread already Silverfaun.
See imastwaka's post with the definition of interpersonal.
A discussion has to be interpersonal in order for a discussion to take place
If posts are interpersonal disputes/or personal/offensive/hostile or off topic surely a mod reading them would remove them wouldn't they ?
if they are OK....I don't get it ?

It would be good if these things were clear .If some general discussion (otherwise fine) posts are being removed.
There are a lot of posts on CS which don't follow that of the 1st post.If someone's first post was off topic for this board (ie ebay related..say a buyer or seller problem) that individual post would be off topic for the CS board .That off topic first post does not make any other posts made in relation to that first post on topic for this board or does it ?
Reading the posts on this board ...so many individual posts would be off topic (and against policy on CS) if every indivual post after the opening post had to be not only seen but indivually judged by others to 'fit' with that 1st post all the way through a general discussion thread.
Updated policy - effective 1 April 2009
Using discussion boards on eBay can be informative, helpful and entertaining. People receive support, learn about eBay and their collecting interests, and meet new friends on the boards. By following our values, the entire eBay community can help keep the boards a positive and enjoyable place to meet and discuss.
Each of the discussion boards has a defined purpose, or topic. This is to help ensure that the discussion boards are a useful and productive forum for discussion about eBay. For example the โAsk a Memberโ board is designed for people to ask questions of other eBay users and receive answers in a courteous manner. The โBuyingโ and โSellingโ boards are places where people can discuss tips and experiences surrounding those eBay activities.
Messages posted to the eBay discussion boards by eBay community members are solely the opinion and responsibility of the person posting the message. eBay is not responsible for material posted by eBay members. You are solely responsible for the material you post.
Grounds for immediate post/thread removal, board sanction and/or eBay suspension
The following types of postings are cause for immediate post removal, warning, board sanction and/or suspension from the site. Other inappropriate postings not listed below may also warrant removal and/or suspension from the site. eBay reserves the right to remove any post without warning or further notice.
Posts that do not relate to the discussion boardโs topic(s)
So would each post only need to fit with the purpose or topic OF this BOARD to not be off topic for this board ?
ie;The topic(s) of Community spirit
is/are not buying and selling topics
Fun and Games topics
Not Ebay related topic
Not Powerseller related topics
etc
Would it not be that individual posts relating to the above would be off topic/wouldn't fit with the purpose of this board ?
or is it that each post must be on topic to the first post of the topic/purpose of the CS board ?
on โ04-04-2014 08:44 AM
For example if a post a poster makes about their family is off topic for this boards topic/purpose what other board on ebay is that post on topic for ?
or is it off topic for ebay all together if it doesn't fit with the topic of another ebay board either ?
on โ04-04-2014 08:58 AM
it would get moved not removed if it was on topic on another board..
