I read that, I wonder why we havent heard from these people that are losing their jobs. They expect to have 15,000 in the green army, you'd think if there were 15,000 job losses in that sector we'd have heard about it by now.

it doesn't start for 4 months, the "green army" work for the dole, so why would you expect to hear about any job losses yet.

They are not closing down Holden for a few years yet, but its already been all over the news. Why would this be any different? Is it perhaps that no jobs will really be lost?

Do people not consider the fact that once a person has had some kind of work/training experience it opens more doors than just the specific area they are trained in, not to mention the confidence it gives a person to go out there and try something new. Maybe some will get a job, maybe some will move on to higher education, maybe some will try something different. At least its giving opportunities.
