Tony Abbott's Support Page

A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.

ROWAN DEAN:-

In fact, all of us today ...are actually Time Bandits – every single day we are reaching into the future and stealing the lifestyle, jobs, businesses, health, education and opportunities that should belong to our kids and grandkids. And we are actively sabotaging the only bloke in town who is not only trying to come to grips with it, but even admits there is a problem.

Australians pride themselves on giving each other a fair go but there is nothing “fair” in the current media treatment of the Prime Minister.

One respected commentator last week based his widely read column predicting the imminent demise of Abbott on – wait for it – two other columnists in the same newspaper predicting the end of Abbott based on – wait for it – gossip and backroom tattle from a couple of anonymous sources. Hello? Sniffing blood in the water, “experts” from all sides are desperate to predict the end of Abbott in what may well become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Much of the backbench “revolt” was fuelled by individuals panicking not at actual decisions, but at the fact that so-called conservatives were now actively joining in with the ABC/Fairfax lynch mob.

Abbott and Hockey’s survival now depends on two things – both of which appear mutually incompatible.

A sound budget strategy and an uplift in the opinion polls. Almost certainly, as things stand in the current Australian mindset, success in either one of them will only come at the expense of the other. A responsible, intelligent, carefully constructed reduction in excessive expenditure (yes, that means cuts) in the current frenzied climate will be howled down as “unfair”, “excessive” etc etc.

And the polls will plummet; and with them the best hope we have of avoiding heading down the euro-route to ever higher youth unemployment will disappear for many years (By which time the problem will be a whole lot worse).

The sad irony is that it’s not just Tony Abbott we are desperately trying to consign to oblivion.
It is ourselves.

Re: Tony Abbott's Support Page

These people have a habit of comparing govt debt to a house mortgage on the one hand while on the other say it's stealing from the children, and yet we never hear anyone equate a house mortgage with stealing from the children.

What gives?  Surely it's not all just rhetoric with which to attack the opponents.

Re: Tony Abbott's Support Page

Prime Minister Tony Abbott will make a major national security announcement on Monday – flagging proposed changes – that is expected to draw on the Martin Place inquiry as well as a separate review of the Australia's national security architecture.

Britain, France and Canada already have laws to strip citizenship from people who pose a national security threat.

Crucially, Australia's respected former Independent National Security Legislation Monitor, Bret Walker, recommended that the government consider stripping citizenship if the Immigration Minister "is satisfied that the person has engaged in acts prejudicial to Australia's security and it is not in Australia's interests for the person to remain in Australia", provided it did not make the person stateless.

Re: Tony Abbott's Support Page

Why do the ABC, Fairfax and the left want Malcolm Turnbull as Prime Minister?

They want him because they know that Malcolm will put Labor back in power, Malcolm will never win an election for the coalition government, the left will crucify him way before an election and the media are in charge of our country once again.

The media still hasn’t got it that they don’t choose our Prime Minister.

When F...airfax run their polls with their multiple fake pages voting, the poll is always the question who is preferred PM between Tony Abbott and Turnbull, we haven’t seen any outside polls with Shorten and Turnbull, matter of fact we didn’t see a poll yesterday.

If our party believes the left are going to vote for Turnbull at an election they are dreaming.

The Courier Mail is having a beat up on Turnbull in this article, they are having what you call a bet each way.

Turnbull’s appearance on Q&A last night was disgraceful and if we didn’t know before we know now why it took him so long to do very little about hauling the ABC in and he still hasn’t done enough.

Turnbull is the ABC’s golden child, he represents everything they love from the climate change fraud to the socialist ideology we have come to expect from the ABC.

Re: Tony Abbott's Support Page

Have you forgotten all the polls between Gillard and Rudd?

Have you forgotten how every single day the LNP sent members and friends along to the ABC, fairfax, anyone who'd give them air time to attack the previous PM and the minority govt?

Do you not think it's a bit hypocritical to now come out and expect the opposition to play nice after the nasty, below the belt attacks for 3 years dealt out by the previous opposition?

Yes, Turnbull's appearance was a disgrace. It's a disgrace the way he hijacks to show, talks over the other guests and amkes it all about him.  It's not the so called left that want him as leader.  Turnbull has no credibility left.  The conservatives hate him because he's a pretend republican and a pretend progressive and the progressives hate him because he's a snake oil salesman that will say anything to eal the deal.  He's as arrogant as they come, talks over people and thinks you win an argument by mocking your opponent.

perhaps the public like Turnbull better as a person??
