A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.

The former Prime Minister John Howard is a shining example of what a decent human being a prime minister should be.

Now let's look at Rudd, Gillard and Shorten, whom the Labor party served up as PM's and future PM's.....arrggh  save us from these appalling of human beings, they will never be awarded the highest commendation from our head of state will they?  No they will sink into ignominy where they deserve to stay, history will never look kindly on these appalling people.

FORMER prime minister John Howard is to join other members of the British Order of Merit at a special luncheon hosted by the Queen at Windsor Castle.

MR Howard will join fellow Australian Lord Robert McCredie May, a distinguished UK-based scientist, and 18 other members at the luncheon on Wednesday.

The luncheon is held every two years but this is the first one Mr Howard will attend after he was presented with his insignia by the Queen in May 2012, Buckingham Palace said.

The Order is a rare honour awarded to individuals "of great achievement in the fields of the arts, learning, literature and science or other exceptional service".

It was created by King Edward VII in 1902 and is the sole gift of the sovereign.

It's restricted to 24 living members and there are currently 23.

Foreigners previously given the Order of Merit have included General Eisenhower, Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela.

Mr Howard was assured of an invitation to Margaret Thatcher's funeral in April 2013 as a member of the Order of Merit at that time.

Mr Abbott and Aston Federal Liberal MP Alan Tudge toured Baxter Laboratories this morning.

Mr Abbott praised Baxter Laboratories, which employs around 100 people, as a “dynamic, expanding Australian manufacturing business,” part of the pharmaceutical sector — Australia’s largest manufacturing export.

The business makes therapeutic skin care and sun care products and pharmaceuticals, and supplies goods around Australia and internationally.

“It’s something that I really want to see grow and expand in the months and years ahead and that’s where our free trade agreements are so important,” Mr Abbott said.

“At the moment Australian pharmaceuticals face tariffs of up to 10 per cent in China and Korea ... under the free trade agreement we’ve negotiated and finalised, these tariffs will disappear.

“So obviously it gives great businesses like this an even better chance to export and grow in our Asian markets.”

Mr Abbott toured the factory and helped employee of 12 years, Sarah Padingarakkara pack a box of products.

He then mingled with staff and even took a few selfies with employees.

Victoria has a new Premier that makes Rudd and Gillard look like rank amateurs when it comes to blowing a surplus, under two months the newly elected Premier has blown the surplus.

Being a Labor person it’s understandable that maths would not be a strong point but this fellow leaves most of Labor’s worst for dead, he is spending $1 billion to tear up a contract that was going to cost $2 billion to build the biggest project the state is crying out for.

The state will most likely be sued into the bargain. The federal leader of course after backing the project is now supporting the lunacy of blowing a billion dollars.

No Jab, No Pay reforms: Religious exemptions for vaccination dumped

RELIGIOUS exemptions for childhood vaccinations will be scrapped to toughen Australia’s new “no jab, no pay’’ laws stripping welfare from parents who refuse to vaccinate their children.

Social Services Minister Scott Morrison revealed he is dumping the last remaining exemption on the books after holding talks with religious leaders.

Just a week after The Sunday Telegraph revealed Mr Morrison was scrapping exemptions for so-called conscientious objec..., he said that there will also be no registered religious exemptions in the future.

The welfare ban for vaccine refusers will cover the childcare rebate, the childcare benefit and the annual Family Tax Benefit A supplement and could be worth up to $15,000 for every child depending on family income.

All families are eligible for the $7500 childcare rebate based on the number of days of childcare used because it is not means tested.

Mr Morrison had refused to publicise the only religion with a registered exemption fearing vaccine refusers would exploit the loophole.

Don't know that I really agree with the "No Jab, No Pay" policy, but at least we know Mr Morrison gets the job done.

Not hard to guess which religion has maintained the registered exemption, is it?

It is not easy to guess, unless you're familiar with the particular religion that has exemption.

Not hard to guess which religion has maintained the registered exemption, is it?

Wasn't the whole point of that article to state that there are now, NO religions exempt from childhood vaccinations, and none will be considered in the future?

From the link

RELIGIOUS exemptions for childhood vaccinations will be scrapped to toughen Australia’s new “no jab, no pay’’ laws stripping welfare from parents who refuse to vaccinate their children.

Social Services Minister Scott Morrison revealed he is dumping the last remaining exemption on the books after holding talks with religious leaders.

Just a week after The Sunday Telegraph revealed Mr Morrison was scrapping exemptions for so-called conscientious objectors, he said that there will also be no registered religious exemptions in the future.

....We have had further discussions with the Church of Christ, Scientist and have formed the view that the registered exemption they have had in place is no longer current or necessary and therefore it will be removed,’’ he said.

“They are not advising anyone in their religion not to vaccinate people.

“Having spoken to them we no longer see that exemption as being current. As a result, there is no longer any religious exemption for vaccination. And there won’t be any religious exemptions for vaccinations.

Of course parents who aren't eligible for Family Tax Benefit and don't use paid childcare, can still choose not to vaccinate their children and they have nothing to lose by doing so.
