We are currently doing up our study/3rd bedroom, with half an eye to eventual grandies, and the subject of top'n'tailing a couple of littlies in a bed came up. Do kids do that these days? I can remember it very well, but don't think my kids ever did.

Yep, when my kids have friends over, as when I was young, they all sleep on a blow up mattress in the lounge, top and tailed, for more room and a couple of blankets thrown over the top of them all.

hahaha, I can't imagine any of my grandies doing that, difficult enough these days to even share a room! I have a set of trundle beds, smaller than a single, 75cm wide and they sit on top of each other, with a cot in the room. You can put them both on the floor for 2 guests but with a gap between so they don't "breathe each others air" lol.

I don't think it does happen. Children these days have their own beds at home and most likely their own bedroom.. so I think if you told them they would be top'n'tailing in a bed together, that wouldn't go down to well at all.
Unless they are very small, even then they would probably play up and annoy each other and get no sleep.
I never had to do that and I am old. My kids (early 20's) wouldn't have like doing that either.

I think what Lis said is OK, most likely a group of friends staying for one night.

My grandies do at times. It's their choice, although at my place one went to sleep on the sofa and wandered off to bed later.

I do have a guest room with a double bed and 2 will sleep together (usually the older 2 sisters)

My grandies love to top and tail when staying up the farm with friends....but not as sisters.
Here we have a trundle....which I might add is becoming a pain to pull out with my crook hip so I am looking a low line bunks

LOL, I have found the same thing occasionally, someone up in their bed, but apparently that was because of snoring/talking during the night. But even att imes where there is only one friend staying the night, the kids will top and tail in the bed rather than the lounge floor, Ive never heard a whinge about it yet.

My son is 22 and still top 'n tails when he stays over with friends ... and sometimes if they go away to a concert they book a cheap double room and do the same.
