Totally useless facts:
The sight of hair or fluff on sticky tape makes me want to throw up.
Toast crumbs (or any foreign material) in the tub of butter makes me dry wretch. If I see something in it I'll throw it out.

I can't stand butter in the jam or vegemite either. I think something even worse than toast crumbs in the butter is when someone scrapes too much out, so after buttering their toast, they scrape the excess back on the side of the tub. I'm nearly gagging just writing it.
Mr Tippy knows my disgust at crumbs in the butter so tries hard not to leave any behind. If there are a few left when I take the lid off, I call him to the kitchen, hold the tub out and say "fix it", which he does. If there's a whole heap in there, I'll just throw it out.

The dot above a lower case i is called a tittle
Tittle can also be used to describe tiny quantities ie .. "wow they're little tittles aren't they?"

"wow they're little tittles aren't they?"
Use of this phrase in mixed company will probably get your face slapped.

yes,.. I agree and apologizr, I should have given the example of
.." Wow, those tittles are bigger than the little tittles (..) I normally see
... however I accept your point and understand that big tittles in mixed company could become a little tittilating.

^^^ edit to put the brackets (..) around the big tittles.. they just didn't sit well for me
on 25-05-2016 09:25 AM
so thats a useful fact: big 'tittles' always need brackets
on 25-05-2016 09:39 AM
Hmmm when I think about they're not the biggest tittles I have seen..
A girlfriend I had when I was young had large circles as tittles (00) in her letters to me. Way back then I thought she had
the biggest tittles of them all.
(As a comparison they bulge right out of their brackets compared to these(..) don't they?
Isnt it ironic that the word tittle can describe a small thing or a dot in language but sometimes they can become so big?

Big 'tittles' especially if they are full circle 'tittles' apparently show immaturity in the writer..most often used by adolescent girls..read into that what you will!!
my useless fact of the day is that the glyphs known as 'tittles' are also referred to i-dots...no relation to Apple products
