Tourism post Coronavirus

looks like Australia will stamp out the viral pest and so release everyone to return to their productive live with renewed vigour, innovation and cheery high productivity - within Australia

Not so good for those seeking two way trips overseas or those seeking to viist Australia - both understandably banned as the virus still rampart - and the last thing we want is an Eqador experience

But anyhow not all is lost to the tourist industry as now almost 1 million per month previous short trip overseas people  will hopefully now find reason to tour within Australia ( I know there are other reasons for visiting overseas)

I think if you do some research, you may find out that all sicknesses aboard cruise ships  are with one company alone - Carnival.

I have friends who 'cruise' often and they say the slackness of the cleaning and wait staff is horrendous.

On other cruises, disinfection is ongoing - lift buttons, stair balustrades, table tops etc

Ashtrays are emptied when there's only 2 or 3 butts in them, glasses removed asap

On the Carnival cruise, no cleaning of public areas was seen more than once a day.  Ashtrays were overflowing, tabletops full of empty glasses.

They say they will never go on a Carnival cruise again.

e.g.  Ruby Princess is a Carnival owned ship.

Totally untrue Carnival being the only company  ...... Carnival haven't owned MV Artinia ship for over 11 yrs   .....

I wouldn't say totally untrue, if you look at my link.

But I'll give you that one.

Perhaps I should have said -

I think if you do some research, you may find out that most sicknesses aboard cruise ships  are with one company alone - Carnival.

Re: Tourism post Coronavirus

You'd need to do research if you were going on a cruise to decide which one to take.

I wouldn't need to do anything 'cause I wouldn't go on cruise if you gave me the ticket    ...... dens of germs at the best of times   .....

Re: Tourism post Coronavirus

I think the problem then is Carnival own many of the other cruise lines or at least those sailing in Australian waters.

We are not big cruisers but what we found after 4 cruises is things can also vary ship to ship and maybe cruise to cruise too, I don't know. Depends on staff a lot. we had a great time on our first cruise but met a woman who was in a different section and different dining room and her experience was the opposite.

Before they get going again, I think all the cruise lines will need to look at overall cleanliness standards and practices because corona isn't even the main virus likely to hit, but for sure, if a ship does go down with very bad cases of eg noro virus, the cruise companies can't really stand too much extra bad publicity.

Re: Tourism post Coronavirus

Cruise ships have been singled out as the greatest spreader of the virus throughout the Caribbean.

Hopefully more Australians will travel within our country if they can't go overseas.

There are so many beautiful places in our own country, but some people think it's not a holiday if they don't go overseas.

Be kind of a new experience knowing that all people around you are Australian resident - in a large city will there be a change in tone ?
