If Obama could receive it, Trump could be the 2021 recipient
Barack Obama 2008 prior to taking office.
He vowed to end America's grueling conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Wins Presidency in November 2008, in less than 12 months awarded the nobel piece of cr?p prize.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee cited Obama's promotion of nuclear nonproliferation and a new climate in international relations fostered by Obama, especially for reaching out to the Muslim world.
The next 7 years of his Presidency saw him launch air strikes and military raids in at least seven countries, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan, costing the lives of many innocent people including children.
During his second term, he pledged to take the country off what he called a permanent war footing, yet his murderous assault in these countries continued with his party and supporters excusing it because his actions only killed half as many people as Bush jnr.

How many who catch the virus will suffer long term side effects?
What effect do the deaths or long time side effects have on the health - mental and physical - of family members?
How many more suicides will there be?
How many will suffer or even die from other diseases if the health system becomes overwhelmed and unable to care for them adequately?
How many more women will die in domestic violence episodes brought on by the frustrations of joblessness and social isolation?
Those things are to some extent mutually exclusive though, aren't they!
I'm not necessarily interested as such in how many die throughout the world, although I am not downplaying it at all.
I recognise the need to keep it in check as much as we are able so as not to overwhelm the hospital system all at once. And no, we don't know the long term effects on some people.
However, the fact is, that most who die from it will be older or will be people with underlying health issues. There are exceptions to every rule but that's the overall scenario.
Politicians have to walk a fine line between keeping the ehalth system a going concern and yet not devastating the economy for generations to come, because things such as joblesseness and domestic violence will rise the longer we have things shut down and people isolated.
We're going to have to accept a certain trade off in covid deaths, I think.

The requirement for a US president is to do what his masters tell him. The current one is no different. It was a joke to see Obama get the Nobel Peace Prize and I just hope that the joke won't be repeated with this current one.

Naturally US citizens would be allowed back into their country. We had that exception too. And the issue of no follow up.
No, they should have not been just left into the country, they should have been questioned where they been, tested and quarantined. The US government understood that it is dangerous so they stopped the Chinese coming in, but by allowing citizens to return without being quarantined they allowed the virus in. Maybe the Chinese authorities were not fast enough warning rest of the world, but the warning was out, it was sent by the doctors. And when in early January the Chinese government started to build 2 hospitals for thousand of people, anybody who did not know that the situation is serious must have been blind and deaf.
To impose quarantine on anybody coming from China or other country with high incidents of deadly disease is the right thing to do, to stop people of one nationality entering the country is racist.
While most people who die are old, young people and even children have died, and those who survive have possibly permanent damage to their organs:

You have no idea the disgust I feel when I think of Trump. The only thing he should get is banishment to a far off galaxy and put on a planet that's just come out of the oven.To a lesser degree I dislike Obama because he just added to the draconian laws that Bush put in place. He came in with a lot of promise that even I bought in to but then showed himself to be more of the same.
The honest guy is the one that didn't get elected. There are reasons for this blackout and none of them good!
All the eleccted presidents have served those who make profits on Wall Street and from wars.

Trump boasting of yet another award - except - this one doesn't exist. LOL
At least one word is pertinent.

It's not about serving, but Wall Street is what keeps America going. Obama at least tried to introduce legislation to keep them bit under control. Trump of course reversed that. Do not forget that Obama had to work with hostile congress, which tried to block everything, or made so many amendments (healthcare) that it was not anywhere near of what Obama intended.

It would appear to be that way as you say kazumi but looking at the biggger picture, the end result is basically the same. The banking system, Industrial Military Complex , lobbyists etc. have too much power. In reality much of what looks good is only window dressing. The elected representitives are powerless to make any real changes and couldn't do it if they wanted to. People are still being made homeless, peoiple are having the properties repposessed. The medial system is a joke and people in the Greatest country on this Earth end up on the scrap heap. In saying that, I think Obama was abit better than Bush in some ways.
Trump's not being truthful when he says "I'm going to make America great again". (1.) He's shown no real evidence of him doing that. The oppposite would be more closer to the truth. (2.) The US was never great to start with.

I doubt you'll ever be happy with elected representatives.
Given they are beholden to your usual list of suspects.
Maybe royal succession or total anarchy suits you better.
