I watched this last night.

I find it odd that the one guy who spoke openly about what he ate, later opened a resturaunt in San Fransisco.

"They have done in the past or still do eat dogs in those countries though. for example, Antarctic, Arctic - on expeditions and/or emergencies when no other food sources available."

I think the use of dogs on expeditions in these areas have been replace by snowmobiles operating out of well established and supply bases since the last century. While there may be cannine pets on these bases I doubt if they would ever be on any menu

I didn't see dog on any menu or eat any dog while in the DPRK.  There are a lot of animals I won't eat but it's really based on emotion than any logic as I am a meat eater.

dogs and cats are carnivorous so their meat is not nutritious for humans.

Humans need to eat meat from herbivores.

Rabbits will do.

I;m the same.  I deplore the way animals are slaughtered for food but I do eat meat and admit that I am a

hypocrite.

Re: US. Restaurant allowed to sell dog meat due to religious grounds

I know you are all going to shoot me, and taken out of text, I would provide the gun.............

But in all fairness, who do we (humans) think we are ?

What gave us the right to decide that cows, chickens, pigs, sheep (lotsa others I can't think of) can be a food source, but dogs, cats, horses etc are not on the menu.

Same as, we can eat tuna, salmon, shark, octopus, squid, all manner of sea creatures (crabs, lobsters) and feel no shame, and yet  dolphins, seals and whales are a no go.

Don't get me wrong, I can't even eat Roo meat, but it does seem, in  the grand scheme of things, that we have decided to play God a little

lot, in the decision of what is acceptable eating and what isn't, so who are we to say other cultures have to abide by our decisions.

I would never dream of eating a family pet (or what would be considered a domestic animal), but then again, I live in Australia and myself and my children are not starving to death, if they were, I think my 'sensibilitys' would change dramatically.

Just sayin'

We need to eat meat or a close substitute.... that is not being a hypocrite. It's reality. We do the best we can.

I read that book, Joanie...I guess if you're starving you'll eat anything, even the pet dog. I wouldn't be going to a restaurant for it though.
