I used to go shooting with my dad, rabbits and hares, I loved rabbit stew, until the day I actually nailed one, never touched it since.

My daughter (now 28) went fishing with her dad when she was about 5, caught a little 'whiting' I think, she was soooo excited.

Dad started to scale and fillet and all hell broke loose - he tried to explain we will have it for tea...........

"But, I thought I was taking it home and putting in a fish tank"........

poor deluded little kid, probably scarred her for life LOL

so who are we to say other cultures have to abide by our decisions.

I feel the same way. What gives us the right to dictate what another culture eats. So long as the animal is killed quickly and not tortued or anything.

I do think there should be a law against Squirrel Pie though Smiley Very Happy

A doctor was addressing a large audience in Oxford ....

"The material we put into our stomachs should have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is full of steroids and dye. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High trans-fat diets can be disastrous and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. But, there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and most of us have, or will eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?"

After several seconds of quiet, a 70-year-old man in the front row raised his hand, and softly said,

"Wedding Cake."

i read that book, Joanie...I guess if you're starving you'll eat anything, even the pet dog. I wouldn't be going to a restaurant for it though

Oh, lol, i don't think he served that at his resturaunt, i don't know what was on his menu, just seems odd that he, being the only one who actually admited to consuming his fellow travelers could make a go of it in the resturaunt business. Actually, not all of them did eat urmm, their fellow travelers, some died, and some lived who never did. Personally, I would think the cold would have killed them before starvation, but thats just me, and it might be this winter in this camper talking.

After Armegeddon- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eym4PwHmUvI

This documentary is interesting because it outlines just how long we can go without food and water, and that at some point, we will no longer be hungry and even eating can't save us. Also tells how good bugs are for us, pound for pound 8 times more proten or something than beef.

Theres another i can't find now, about the human brain that tells how our brain can make foods we would never eat appealing to us, even taste good, when we are starving as a survival trait. A man stranded at sea in a small boat stopped eating fish flesh and was instead eating their internal organs, couldn't get enough, said it was like candy to him.
