Underemployment in Australia is on the rise and it may only get worse, experts say
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-26/underemployment-on-the-rise-and-may-get-worse/12003092
so it only takes 4 hours to clean the biggest airport in australia?
no, of course not
so why is someone being given only a 4 hour shift?
there has to be a reason.
is it that more than 4 hours they have to pay something extra?
is it better to pay 2 people for 4 hours each than 1 person for 8 hours?

Unfortunately it is just another sign that Australia is living beyond its means. Constantly rising debt, constantly increasing population, constantly selling off the industries and natural resources that have supported our standard of living to overseas buyers, the list goes on.
Its unsustainable and Australians living standards will continue to fall as we are starting to be paid based on what we actually produce instead of being propped up by our natural wealth of mining and agriculture. Get used to it....Its only going to get worse.
