Victorian Earthquake

9.00 am this morning Victoria has experienced a 5.9 earthquake which was originally thought to be a tremor.

Hopefully no one was injured!

Re: Victorian Earthquake

I was in Port Augusta and felt nothing.  Probably too far away.

Re: Victorian Earthquake

Our work building started shaking then even more.

I thought it was big gusts of wind but looked out and the trees weren't moving.

The building is new, that's when I  thought the structure was failing so everyone ran out into the street in fear of it collapsing.

Others in the street had done the same.

All the buildings were making a noise, creaking and groaning.

Apparently the centre being around Mansfield, 6.0 on the scale.

I remember one in Melbourne about 7-8 years ago, stemming from Sth Gippy, Korumburra I think.

We had many in living in Japan and my father had installed a rope next to the window of our second storey that I needed to throw out and climb down in case the stairs went. I remember practicing it when I was around 4 years old.

Re: Victorian Earthquake

I just hope that this is a last of it. People in Victoria have been subject to some horrendous things in recent times. This is the last thing they need.
