Wondering if anyone can give me some info or suggest where to look.
I have an HSC student who is having carpel tunnel, RSI etc hand issues. It is making typiing very painful or sometimes near impossible.
I am looking for a voice activated typing program so, she can talk it and it will type into the computer.
She has one she's tried and it cant get it right---it gets normal words wrong to like "eruption" and especially odd names like ancient places and authors names etc----even if she types it in once to "teach" it
any suggestions for something REALLY good.
TIA

Dragon Naturally Speaking.
You can train it pretty quickly.
Have a specific legal one, so maybe a version for other specialties?
But the regular one works just fine.

Oh, and they've got versions compatible with iPhones and iPads etc too, but the PC versions are better.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is the best known, been around for donkeys years. You have to train it to recognise your speech by reading a passage provided by the program.

will it learn ancient place names?

I don't know, might have to do some google search for that - but how many of those would she have to use anyway?
Mine will do Latin words, but it's a legal one, so might come with the software iykwim - the basic ones are less than $100 maybe even $50, depending on the version (get the newest one they can afford. - the legal one was $900, so it may be more sensitive.

I can't put links, cos they all seem to have advertising associated with them but the reviews for the
"Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 Premium"
seem to be really good.
bit pricey though, maybe?
have a look.
