well heres a suprise, newly elected liberal party has discovered we have welfare cheats that are causing all our problems.
no need to worry about those big businesses not paying tax, they can get all the money they need by attacking the poor
as usual.

give a poor drongo a fire and he'll be warm for a day
set him on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

heard our 'isnt he such a nice man' treasurer telling all what a wonderful job all those with jobs have done making our country such an economic success.
couple of points, he never mentioned that other mob, you know the ones who are hopeless at running the economy were in power for a good slice of the time our country was leading the world.
also, his speach really was saying the ones on welfare are dragging us down.

And where do you think the funds came from for Australia to be leading the world?
After our own funds ran out they borrowed as much as they could and now we have to find the funds to pay it all back.

a hell of a lot of the money that john howard put into the liberal party piggy bank was created by selling off just about everything but the kitchen sink.
all of those 'assets' once owned by the public.
and yes, kevin rudds govt spent it getting us out of a financial crisis that engulfed the rest of the world. and is still being felt today.
and here we have mr morrison taking credit when the liberal party were opposed to the spending of that money at the time.
we will never know what would have happened had the libs been in power at the time. but we saw what happened around the world didnt we.
i just think credit is due to both parties as to the economy of this country, not just one.

Is it going to take the Liberals another 10-15 years to build up a "piggy bank" as you call it just so they can be booted out again and Labor will spend it all again?
History repeating itself...we never learn.

Remember the Gold sell off at the bargain price of around US$330 into a buyers market.

i doubt the libs will be in power for the next 10 - 15 years but even if they are, whats left to sell? not much in the old cupboard since they were last in power.

one of mr costellos poorer decisions i suspect.
"The decision to sell the reserves was approved by then RBA governor Ian Macfarlane and then treasurer Peter Costello."
