Political threads have their place in social media but I do not think 'Community Spirit' is the place.
The vitriol and nastiness some of these threads engender, leading to claims of interpersonal posts, removal of posts and frequent locking of threads all damage any Community Spirit which previously existed.
Freedom of speech is to be applauded but the current rash of political threads is 'infecting' the spirit of the Community Spirit board.
Does anyone agree with me?
Would anyone else be prepared to communicate with the moderators requesting consideration of this suggestion?
I have.

Endless c&p and endless threads started every day and the endless sniping and reporting is just what the perpetrators like to do.
They post a thread in full knoweledge to incite and then stand back and watch it implode until the thread is locked.
This is the aim of these posters, what they live for just like the trolls and bullies who thrive for these activities.

I dont know if it needs its own board, but keeping it out of other threads would be nice and making it obvious the thread is political in nature is good too. Although thats often easy enough to see by the id of the poster.
But I'm pretty sure we've been through this before and consideration of others isnt a high priority for some of the posters here.
Punch ,you were very much for disadvantaged Australians once..
not so much now ? have your values changed ?

Could be construed as bullying and what has it got to do with the relocation of political threads? Some people take a huge interest in politics while others don't. Politics is topical and affects each and everyone of us, no matter the level of interest or political persuasion. Perhaps the anti-politics posters need to be relocated to their own board. For a long time, religious threads dominated, now it is politics, wait a while, and it will be something else.

these sorts of threads are Political...and imo against Community values.
Punch, I had noticed over the past few years how understanding you were of the issues facing particular groups of people who will now find it much harder to survive than they did over recent years.I suppose I was just expecting to see even more concern in your posts for those same people than what was in posts made before the last federal election given what is going on.

Do what you're told, Punch! LOL.
Having met Punch on a number of occassions, I can assure you that she is a genuinely lovely and compassionate person.
