Political threads have their place in social media but I do not think 'Community Spirit' is the place.
The vitriol and nastiness some of these threads engender, leading to claims of interpersonal posts, removal of posts and frequent locking of threads all damage any Community Spirit which previously existed.
Freedom of speech is to be applauded but the current rash of political threads is 'infecting' the spirit of the Community Spirit board.
Does anyone agree with me?
Would anyone else be prepared to communicate with the moderators requesting consideration of this suggestion?
I have.

I'd like to see the min 10 feedback posting rule bought back in.I dont feel that the change has helped the Spirit of this Community. There are enough posters and groups of posters who change depending on who they are posting AT wihout further aiding that sort of anti social behaviour by giving unlimited posts to 0 ids.Who can join together to silence any member for the slightest of reasons.

You wouldn't be able to refrain yourself 😉

I am not wanting to ignore any threads.

We are not apathetic about politics in the Bluecat household so it is second nature for us to talk about it, much like how other households might do with say, football. This thread, in its essence is political in itself.
Wouldn't you be happier in a designated political thread then, if you think it would thrive and boring old CS would be in decline?

How many no politics threads have you started Icy?
and how many Political threads did you start while your No Political threads were still being posted on? lol
Lots. But I try to keep a balance, I don't post politics exclusively. And I don't go on and on. I have a short attention span so I get bored with the same old subject over and over. I think I would pop over to a designated politics thread from time to time.

No. Would I want that? I post on many different threads including political ones. I am not the one whinging about threads of a specific topic. Strange.

I don't see any new IDs disrupting the "community spirit".
