Political threads have their place in social media but I do not think 'Community Spirit' is the place.
The vitriol and nastiness some of these threads engender, leading to claims of interpersonal posts, removal of posts and frequent locking of threads all damage any Community Spirit which previously existed.
Freedom of speech is to be applauded but the current rash of political threads is 'infecting' the spirit of the Community Spirit board.
Does anyone agree with me?
Would anyone else be prepared to communicate with the moderators requesting consideration of this suggestion?
I have.

no thanks Laney.I actually think that the threads are much much tamer than they were before the Coalition got into power
thats not the way i see it, political spamming has gotten worse on this board cos labor lost the election, the lefties are all up in arms (whining) over it
and the righties are just taking the p..
if anyone is to blame, it would have to be the lefties who started it

this is the 'general discussion board'
Yes, but if politics was given its own board, would that make it unavailable for general discussion?
_____________________________________________________________________________________________Not if it is still on topic/permitted on this board as well .
If there was a dedicated board for political threads, that every eBay poster had access to, why would political threads need to be permitted on CS as well?
There have been several threads moved from CS by the mods to a board they deemed more appropriate - that didn't preclude anyone who was interested from posting on them.
because as yet in Australia general discussion does not excude political discussion.

Which is not what the thread title says.
WHO WOULD PREFER TO SEE ALL POLITICAL THREADS RELEGATED TO THEIR OWN THREAD IN CONNECT AND SHARE
That should have read to their own sub-heading in Connect & Share.

What specific problems would it cause for you, as a poster, if politics had it's own dedicated board. Am?

As that is never going to happen, I won't have any anticipated problems.

I repeat what I said earlier: '' I should have made it clearer for you'.
I did understand your 'accross' though
