WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

This was an absolute first for me. As you can see, I had zero letters for the first word. I decided to use an eliminator word for the second, and blow me down! I'm like, I can't be seeing this!

I started to get very worried about the first word.

Second word could have been 3 words with the letters I had left. I had the option of B or C or F. I first went with F. Then I went with B and was very surprised!

I found this okay today and I don't always, not with quordle. Luck of the draw with eliminators used, I think.

The only one that worried me a bit was that bottom left as I had _aunt. It could have been daunt, gaunt etc

But I had a lucky break, after trying gaunt I left it to concentrate on the top right word where I had a couple of letters in place, but there were a few alternatives. I tried above and it was wrong, but it solved the bottom left nicely. It was the last one I would have tried otherwise.

That bottom right word needs to be given a rest for a while.

The octordle was good today. I started with a common eliminator of mine, ocean. Imagine my shock to see I had every letter, just none of them in the right place. This exact thing has happened before so I knew it was canoe.

Then I noticed a strange thing. Words 2 & 8 were showing identical results, all along the line. I wasn't sure of the 4th letter, I had 2 ideas in mind, but this was lovely as whichever way I jumped, I got one right.😁

Word #7 (bottom left) is actually the first one I solved, in that I had 3 letters (not in order) and thought, well, it could be, but then I thought-No, keep going. But it was.😁

After my opening word, I suspected that the word was XXXXX (where XXXXX = the correct answer) … but I played an eliminator anyway as a hunch is just a hunch; there were several other possibilities.

But my row 2 confirmed the initial suspicion.
