WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

All I could 'see' was tardy.

I surprised myself as I didn't actually expect that would be the answer but couldn't think of anything else. And in the meantime, it tried out some new letters and what I suspected would be the position for the T.

This worked out reasonably well till the end.

At the end, I only had a few letters left to play with, and words such as boozy were ruled out.
I had in mind foggy, bobby, doggy, poppy, boppy (unlikely), but I fancied foggy. I used fudgy as eliminator, which in hindsight, I could have improved upon. In the end, I thought poppy more likely than bobby.

This was a really unusual game in that I found it really easy after turn 2 and whipped through it within a minute or so, with none of the usual agonising over this or that. I didn't have any alternative choices in mind.

I don't know if it really was easy or if I was just in blissful ignorance & was missing other possibilities. (like yesterday where I missed party and warty)

But in any case, today it worked out.

PS Just had another glance through and yes, blissful ignorance. I looked at #7 and thought.. can't be plume of flume, no M. But I now see it may have been fluke.  But they use elude on a semi-regular basis, which is probably why i thought of it.

The irony is, in hindsight I think if I had used shout, I would still have got it in 3 as the H would have been in place so i would have guessed the CHAI part.

Wrong. I could immediately see then what it was going to be but it had to wait because at least the wrong answer had cleared up #2, 3 & 4.

C could have been in 2nd position (for scarf, scary), or in 1st position (for chard, chair, charm). I decided to use an eliminator rather than jump into a 1-in-5 guess; mysid would rule out all but the correct answer.

I feel as though I wimped out of making a guess… but I would probably have played either SCARY or CHARM had I made a guess. SCARY would not have ruled out anything except for SCARF; it would have been a bad choice if wrong. CHARM would have been fine as it would leave only CHAIR as the answer. Still… the eliminator was a conservative choice and I suppose it was the smart choice as well.
