I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education ๐คฃ

Thanks, s&d. Grandson has just turned 8 and had vomiting and sore stomach etc. It seems there is some gastro going around. He didn't eat anything really, from Sunday night till last night. Except an icypole, of all things!
Last night he ate some pizza so I think he is feeling a lot better now! We've had our dramas with him but luckily this was just a minor illness.
I know what you mean by feeling crushed when things go wrong. Last year was a shocker. A friend of his at school kicked him hard in the testicles last year at lunch time (in a game of ninjas) and then, seeing he was in bad pain, must have been scared and told my grandson not to tell anyone. Pain apparently settled and grandson obliged and told no one and days later when pain returned and he did tell his father, it was too late. he lost a testicle.
That has been very upsetting for all the family.
Anyway, on to happier things.
Wordle in 3 today. Starters in spoiler.

springyzone, that must have been terrible for your grandson.
Children donโt often realise his serious it can be when theyโre hurt in play. Losing a testicle is a harsh outcome.
At least heโs not doing too badly now. I hope he is keeping up his fluids, poor lad.

My usual starting word was adieu. I then went with "basic'. The third try was pretty much a given.

Springy, a kid at school beat him so hard he lost a testicle? I'm not an ambulance chaser by any means (I work in health), but I'd definitely be pursing legal action. I don't care if it's kids being kids. That is not acceptable. When he gets older and has finished growing, he can get an implant so he looks "normal", but he might decide by then he doesn't really care.
Testicular cancer is most common in boys in their teens and early 20's. Seeing them leave the OR with an implant really makes a huge difference for them. They know they've lost one, but they leave hospital feeling as normal as they can. I know that wasn't the case with your boy, just using it as an example. Like breast implants, he can get whatever size he likes!!! I don't suggest a double G size, or he might have trouble finding jeans that fit LOL!
I'm so glad to hear he's feeling better from his tummy bug. It's been doing the rounds in my part of NSW as well and it's really knocking the kids about, big time. So far my grandies 5 hours away have escaped it, but the local kids are really being knocked for a 6.

I hear you about the kid at his school. I agree. The trouble is, that other child was also only 7 and it was in play. In my opinion, the other boy probably got a nasty kick in but the problem is my grandson did not tell anyone.
My daughter did ring up one of those law firms but they said there is no one to sue. No legal case.
The school is not liable as they did not know. The problem is that had he seen a doctor earlier, they probably could have saved it. Such a shame. It came right on the last day of a term too.
The school did speak to the classes about safety afterwards and about talking up when something is wrong.
Anyway, the last couple of years have been pretty hard in a lot of ways, just one thing after another.
Wordle today. Not brilliant but not sure I personally could have guessed it in less, given my starters.

It wasn't actually all that hard, it is just I made some wrong attempts but at least nothing I was kicking myself over, as in, letters where they couldn't possibly have gone and I should have noticed.
Some of the wrong attempts-beige, evict, spick.
