WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I’m pleased with this. My starter of CATER followed by LOUIS set things off nicely.

Not one of my better games but this did intrigue me as I think Bot contradicted himself.

As you can see, my first 3 turns exposed some yellow letters.

When I later read the analysis, Bot told me I had narrowed it down to 4 words, and he told me those 4 words.

Now, a Bot should know what he has in his little word bank, shouldn't he!

But I didn't feel confident so tried a 3rd word, which Bot wasn't all that fond of.

The interesting bit is that, with the letters exposed, I couldn't think offhand of a word starting with T, which was my first fancy. I could think of panty but decided that was not seemly enough for Bot, so i went with natty.
Natty was allowed, which means it must be in Bot's bundle of words, so why didn't he say earlier there were at least 5 possibilities? His response to natty was that it didn't eliminate any of the 2 possibilities.
Then when I chose tawny, he said he would have gone with tangy himself.
No pleasing Bot!😂

Two mistakes along the way. One was feasible, the other careless, so I am not that happy with myself, even though the score is under 60.

My starter was TRACE, and I used DOING as my 2nd row eliminator. I could see two remaining word possibilities at that point (with one more that was an informal abbreviation), so it really came down to luck.

This didn’t feel comfortable, and I was forced to use American spelling. Grrrr!

My starter was SAINT. I used CLOUR as my 3rd row eliminator.

Bot commiserated with me over my first word as it left hundreds of possibilities. Even after my second, he said there were 6. I had only thought of 3 and as it turned out, my first thought would have been right but I used another eliminator to narrow it down, in case. Bot totally approved of that word, at least.

The bot thought my eliminator was less fit for duty than its own preference; I disagree, as gut feeling, experience and luck do play a part in solving puzzles. Those things are best used in conjunction with logic…

The bot wouldn’t have solved today’s Wordle in as few turns as I.

I started with SLATE.
