I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I was lucky to get it in 4! Bot told me my 4th word was out of 2 choices and congrats, I made the right choice!
I hadn't even thought of the other word.

This one, I don't know that I could have solved it all sooner but I think I could have brought the score down slightly. On turn 8, I used another eliminator. I could see the answer for #2 (every square had a green), but I was on a mission to discover the starting letter for #5.
I should have solved #2 first, then moved to the eliminator.

TRACE as my first wasn’t bad, but it was my eliminator DOILY that really brought it home.

CATER and DOILY for this one… I was fortunate to be able to guess 2L with my 3rd row, which led to only one possible answer for 3L and then for 3R.
Top left was then a gamble but based on solid information.
The rest fell into place.

I am not even sure how I got a score as low as 64. I was expecting much worse as I made a few mistakes.
I didn't find the words hard, but a couple were tricky. I definitely would have done better to use another eliminator at turn 3.

CATER and SPOIL…
What a lovely word for today; I couldn’t help thinking it would have been a wonderful Easter word, though.

I used CATER as my starter, and I knew that T must be in a particular position for top left. I knew also where two other letters were, and had little hesitation in solving that word tour suite.
But of course I then needed an eliminator. After that, I made a risky guess for 2L, partly because the word has popped up several times of late.
The only other risky moment was with the final word that I solved, top right. It could have been a sword manoeuvre, as I hadn’t played the letter which would have been required to rule that in it out. But I decided to go with the other likely possibility… and luck was with me.
I can definitely see why you had some frustrating little patches of wrong guesses, springyzone. The use of some double letters and one-off letters does seem designed to trip one up.
