I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

3L was easy - I had 4 of the letters and only two likely word possibilities, and I guessed correctly.
I could have tried guessing another two words, but the fields were too wide. I decided to use an eliminator - SPOIL. That gave me 2L and 2R, and it ruled out a letter for 1L, so that I knew what the word there must be.
3R was possible to work out at that point, even with only one green and two yellows. I could also solve 1R, knowing that the last letter couldn’t be [x] which ruled out the anagram of the answer.
4R was also clear at that time. 4L gave me the most pause for some reason… but knowing that the A could only go in one of two positions ruled out everything but the answer.

Bot naturally could have done better, but it's too early in the morning for much brainwork from me. I just looked at the 2 letters I knew of after my second turn and shrugged my shoulders and said no idea, I'll go for another eliminator and after that, the penny dropped.

After my second turn, I was able to write down several possibilities for 5 of the words. Number 5, I had a strong hunch but held back till much later. I also had an immediate thought for number 4, which proved to be wrong, so it was lucky I had not played it.

LOUGH was my eliminator. My guess wasn’t the only possible answer, but out of the few possibilities I thought it was the most likely.

TRACE and LOUGH again… They weren’t the best starters but at least I could make a guess with 2R. There were 3 obvious initial letters and luckily I chose the correct one.
I could then guess 1L.
I had three yellows then for 2L and it was just enough for me to make another guess, which in turn gave me enough to solve 2R.
1 green and 2 yellows for 4R - I could solve that. I then had 3 greens and 1 yellow for 3L - solved.
4L was now solvable - interesting! That left 3R, and I could see what must be.

I started with the usual, and put LOINS into the 2nd row as my eliminator.

TRACE with a 2nd row eliminator and another eliminator for row 3 (HYMNS)… This was tough going.

LOUGH was my 2nd row eliminator, and I needed another eliminator at row 4 (SPINY).

The likely pattern was fairly obvious after my first turn, but there were still several words it could have been.
I went for it on turn 2 but missed out, as you can see. Luckily, I chose the right letter on turn 3 as there was another possibility.
