WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I starter with TRACE and used LOUGH as my 2nd row eliminator.

I was able to solve each word consecutively from that point on, until I was tackling the last word on 2L. I had _UL_Y, so played DULLY. No dice, including the second L being a blank, which meant that I had only P as a possibility for that penultimate letter, and the only possible letter to start the word was also P.

I am a bit gutted today as I did wordle as usual but when I went to check out what Bot thought, up came a message to join the Times. I recall seeing that same message some time ago when I was not home and tried wordle on my phone, but this is the first time it has shown on my home computer.

So it looks as if I am out of the loop too now.😩

PS Let me guess what he would have said.

1. ALIEN is a good guess at any time but was particularly lucky today.

2. SLIDE was not a bad try, I'd give it 60 out of 99, but my own guess of _____ would have been so much better. But you've narrowed it down, you should get it next turn or else you are the fool I have long suspected.

3. Got it, that's a relief but there wasn't much else it could be.

Try using Chrome as your browser, springy. You may need to be reasonably quick once you’ve solved Wordle, but it seems to be consistently possible to access the bot now.

Excellent! Especially in your getting 1L first; I didn’t solve it until my last play.

And yes, the words are a bit stale. Octordle can do better.

When I saw what letter was yellow in line one, position 3 and in line 2, position 4, I had to turn my initial flurry of guesses around.

I was doing reasonably well with this but needed an eliminator at turn 7. It wasn't that I had no ideas, the problem was I had too many possibilities.

It helped but I did get caught by #5

I was also kicking myself on #4. All along, I had had a word in mind as a possibility but I didn't want to jump in. Then at the last moment I saw another possibility that I thought might be more likely so went with that.
