WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

k1ooo, I almost had a 2 for today’s 2:30 am Wordle just now; my answer would have been the correct one, too.

Instead I was cautious. I could see a few possible solutions and I decided on an eliminator. Now I feel as though I’ve cheated myself of the visceral thrill of a 2-rower.

springyzone, it is good to see you! From what you say, the eBay login system generated your username on its own…? I hope you’re having a superlative time and that the sights and pleasures of the cruise are even better than anticipated.

Apart from thank, I could see toast, twain, toady, toads, thaws, twang. I’d rule out two of these according to Wordle logic because of the final “s”.

I don’t really know how this Octordle managed to feel uncomfortable in a slippery slides sort of way. Looking at it, it is mostly perfectly logical, but with one or two words that are a little more insecure, like a plank over a chasm when you feel that plank start to shift. I do have a tension headache pressing over my forehead and around the back of my head; that might be it.

DILLY 🎯 I almost made a mistake here; at first I saw but didn’t take in that there was a “d”, and I was about to play “hilly”. I think my headache must have been affecting my thinking, as I got all the way to the “y” before twigging and replacing that wrong almost-guess with “dilly”.
