WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

My gut was telling me the shape of the word.

I knew it was _ _ A _ E - and gut instinct leaned towards L or N being involved. It also leaned towards B - no logical reason.

I have to admit, I have never heard of hongi. Hangi yes, but did not realise hongi is a word.

I was going along okay till towards the end when I needed another eliminator (I used pricy) as I really had no idea what on earth #1 could be.
Plus I was facing the same dilemma as the other day-spoon or swoon for #8

On my first go-yes, you guessed, ALIEN, I was lucky enough to get 4 letters in 3 different spots.
Now, you'd think with all those letters it would be a shoo in, but it is amazing how many combinations could be made. 
#1 I had down as probably penal, renal, venal or lance (given the positions of the yellows). Lucky I waited as I would never have guessed the answer straight off.
#2 I fancied liken but it could have been liven or linen. I thought that latter would be just typical of octordle!
Even #3, with 3 letters exposed, could have been gland/bland/blank and so on.

How embarrassing to have 3 spots with 4 exposed though and not get at least one of them on turn 2, so i had a go at #7 and honour was restored!

I did have to use a couple of eliminators along the way later ( budge and knave)

After alien, I used price as I didn't think there would be more vowels in it, although stale and shale would be possible answers. I went with price rather than pricy to test the e position and got lucky.
Next was fudgy, which gave G. My first instinct was legal but luckily I knew that was not possible so I had to rethink.

Lucky to get through this today! 

I started with shout because I figured alien had so many letters in a few spots yesterday, that they may ring the changes today. But no such luck, slim pickings indeed.

So second was alien.

Third I went with pricy because it has useful letters plus #2 was going to be either theta or thera as far as I could see and pricy would solve that question for me.

Made a couple of mistakes along the way.

black instead of flack

bilby instead of billy. All the way along, I was thinking billy, but at the end, I thought they are both 'aussie' sorts of words and bilby might be better. Wrong.
