WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I knew about half way through that I was done for, score wise, as I just couldn't see my way clear without another eliminator.

I am always impressed by your little summary with bombs and targets but I'm not as tach savvy so I decided this morning that a screenshot is probably easier for me.
I wasn't sure what folder to save them to but then I saw one called error page (which I have no recollection of making but I must have) and it seemed very appropriate.😂

I  could see the likely general pattern of the last few words, but needed crumb eliminator. I thought canal was likely but was worried it could be banal and #7-crier, cried/drier, dried & #6, moist or foist (if I had had to choose, would have thought moist)

But defeated at last lap on that #3.

This one took me ages, I had to go slowly as I was worried about making a really stupid mistake and then having to show you the screenshot, so it made me more careful.😂

Still didn't help though as towards the end I needed another eliminator (or I felt I needed one as I couldn't see my way clear)

On #4, I was stuck on blood/gloom/bloom.

#6, guilt or quilt.

I thought it likely at least one of them would start with G but had no idea which one, if any. Hence Gumbo.

PS Just looking at your spoilers now. OMG, I never even thought of joist for #6 in the classic. Just as well I didn't as that would have really done my head in.

(Re pain … it’s subsided to a manageable level. I’m just never sure when it will worsen… Oh well, it keeps me on my toes, metaphorically.)

I was going beautifully until the very last word. At that point, I spent too long a period of time dep-sunk in thought.

I did finally place my guess - and it was correct.

alien/then I went off track as I had this feeling that it could end in -er, so I tried lower. It gave me the er ending and tested the L placement plus was a possible answer. I wasn't 100% happy using W as it isn't all that useful in most cases, but I thought lower was more likely than other choices.

I dipped out on L/R but was surprised to get W!

I was really pleased at how I was going at the start,  especially as I had taken a bit of a risk on #1, thought I might be in for a really good score, but pride goes before a  fall.
