I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

A cornucopia of logic was employed with this!

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 RIGID 🎯
It could have been rigid, risky, ribby, girly, virus, bidri, pirri, sigri, wirri. I discounted pirri and wirri as they’re of Australian Aboriginal origin. I discounted sigri and bidri as being too unusual for Wordle. I don’t recall seeing ribby in Wordle … so I had it down to rigid, risky, virus or girly. I decided upon rigid; if it was wrong, the absence or presence of G and R (green or yellow) would be enough to solve it on the next guess.

I’ve placed the recycle symbol next to “sumac” because that aspect (having seen sumac pop up multiple times before) helped me to solve it. It doesn’t mean there aren’t other recycled words - oh boy! The stale steam must imply the sense of a patty!
Once I’d solved 2L (sense), there was a wasteland.
“You cannot say, or guess, for you know only
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water.” (T.S. Eliot)
Neither 1R nor 4L were so singular in their arrangement as to give relief. So I sighed, and tilted at the broken images of 1R. The possibilities included defer, refer, fever, fewer, hewer, vexer, hexer… I tried “defer” – wrong! but it did at least give me a 1 in 2 chance of guessing the solution on my next go.
And then it was down to another 1 in 2 chance for the last word, since F was now confirmed in its first position.
As you can tell, I’m in a very Eliotian mood.

Spoiler
I had some ideas, too many after turn 3, so went with corky as eliminator.
It helped a lot but then I made the mistake on #6 with hardy, which I was confident was the answer.
Then I thought rapid would be it for #1 for sure. At least it helped solve #6 as after hardy, I probably would have tried harry.
Oh no… That’s frustrating. The first eliminator just didn’t give you enough. It’s so cruel a result. 😳😢
