WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education ๐Ÿคฃ

13 ex.jpgThe score might look better but I did not play this game as well, in my opinion.
I guessed clued on turn 2, with fingers crossed it wasn't glued, so that was a risk.

Then for some reason, I completely passed over #3 while concentrating on other spots, till towards the end, I looke dup and thought-okay, what else is remaining and thought good grief, I should have solved this before some of the others as they were riskier.

I feel as if we have seen a lot of these words before. #8 jaded/faded. I only went for jaded as it is the extreme. Had it been the classic, I possibly would have tried faded but who knows!

OMG, never thought of waded.

I don't like gator either, but they have used it before. Otherwise I don't think it would have occurred to me.

I did not see my way clear to do any better today.

Spoiler
14 cl.jpgI started off taking risks #6 tease or taste, #8, liver, viler, filer, #5  steed or steep
In each case, I went with my first inclinations but that sort of luck can't last.

By turn 6,  I had no clear cut favourites.
I was thinking #7 scoop or spook & couldn't decide. (nope, never even thought of spoof)
#4, munch, punch, bunch, hunch
#2 puppy, mummy etc
#3 dried/fried (no, never thought of pried)
#1 maron, baron, rogan (wasn't sure if they would count rogan though without the josh)

Anyhow, went for frump as eliminator & it helped a lot.

Easier on the whole, although I made a mistake in it.

Spoiler
14 ex.jpgI went for guilt instead of quilt on turn 4 as G seemed a more useful letter in case I did get it wrong.

Just like yesterday, it took a while to notice #5, which in hindsight was easier than #2 because it had no vowels.
#7 mistake with tarry. It's that horrible warty word again.
I did consider bilby for #8 but nope, these are Americans.
