I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education ๐คฃ

The first word (3L) was a 1 in 2: worth the risk. I almost decided to try 4L as well with gauntโฆ but it might be gloat, gamut, gault (unlikely), gaita (unlikely). Better to use an eliminator - after which I knew what it was. Along the way I quickly dealt with 1R (trash) and 4R (guise) before playing gamut for 4L.
At this point, 2L was blame/flame/amaze; 2R was stove/stole/stoke; 3R was civil/civic/picky; 1L was black/clack/flack/aback/alack. There was no help for it: another eliminator or a guess. I decided to guess aback - and luck was with me.
I now knew 2R and 2L, and with both K and L ruled out, I also had the final word in my grasp.

Oh, nicely done! The eliminator honed down the possibilities and I had only to choose between snipe and snide.
๐This is where I go wrong in life.
I would have gone with snipe, for sure.
So either with your eliminators or mine, it would have been a 4 guess day.

I had only 10 possible answers but my best efforts at an eliminator would give me no better than 5 certain outcomes on row 3. It was lucky that the answer was one of those certain outcomes.
