WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education ๐Ÿคฃ

#1 I thought could be batty/ratty/patty/track
#2 I thought quilt or guilt
#3 pivot/divot
#4 rapid/vapid/rabid
#5 lease/lapse (one of the few where I was even on track)
#6 merge/verge
#7 too many
#8 mauve/gauze/gauge
I'm probably lucky to have come out at only 60 today!

I did use another eliminator, but luckily didn't need it till a bit further down.

Spoiler
14 12 ex.pngAbout half way through, I felt I really needed to sort letters c/p/b so used eliminator bicep.
At the time, I was wondering
#2 glove/clove
#3 the usual contenders but bicep would narrow the field
#4 bread/dread
#6 smack/swamp. It is just lucky I went with bicep and not pubic as eliminator as otherwise I would have assumed the answer was swamp, for sure. Took me a while to figure that one out as it couldn't be scamp/stamp either.

The P of tramp gave me lapse.

The M of tramp gave me a 50/50 for 4L. I guessed correctly.

The D of dream gave me 2R (braid). The B of braid gave me 2L (orbit) and 1R (built).

3R couldnโ€™t be anything but verve.

It was an unlucky beginning. You could have risked a guess for #5 or #6โ€ฆ but with a 50/50 chance of a wrong letter, it isnโ€™t an easy call to make.

I skipped through this one quite quickly, without any really difficult choices, because alternatives rended to fade out as I went along.

I don't feel too bad about the score as I didn't do anything supremely stupid but I did need another eliminator near the end. Even looking back, I can't see how I could have avoided it at that stage.
