From what I saw, the ones who abused alcohol the most were the ones who were not allowed to drink.

Not ALL teens who were not allowed alcohol when under 18, will drink to excess when they are legally allowed to drink alcohol.

I was only talking in reference to my group of friends when I was a teen.

Although I see it now with a few of my teen nephews and nieces. A couple of them are serious binge drinkers - these are the ones who were taught that you have to 'wait until you are old enough'. And then at 17 and 18 - bang! - they were suddenly allowed to drink! It's quite sad to see my 18yo nephew and his friends drink themselves into a stupor every time we go out with them.
