A while back, maybe a couple of years, not sure, we had some very bad storms here in the Dandenongs and a number of undamaged places were without power of any kind for several weeks.
From memory, after a week or so the government started moving in portable generators to homes that didn't have one.
It at least gave people some light and allowed some cooking, I think.
I wonder if they could do the same for people in some of the flood affected areas.

Great idea, springy.

Definately a good idea. A lot of sporting fields now have opened up their showers so at least that's a start.
I know people have accessed electric heating just until the gas is fixed. Also people have accessed things like microwaves and air fryers to tide them over.
Bathurst hould have all the gas returned in about a week. Lithgow is out for 4 weeks.
Eventually all will be back to normal providing the rain stays away!

After the last lot of wild weather and days of power loss here last year, I bought a generator. (Lots of advice from Mr Generator at local Bunnings as to what capacity, etc.)

I have friends in an affected area - just texted to see if they are okay and if they need any help.
