I took the following photo a few weeks ago on a 39 deg day and I was in full sun but this engine was running and the heat it was giving off made 39 deg feel cool. It was in the car park of a pub I was walking past.

It reminded me of my father and his love of all things steam so I took the photo to keep on my phone because this photo makes me smile.

.

I forgot to say there wasn't anyone with it and you can just see a piece of timber stopping the rear right wheel. I think the driver must have had to cool off in the pub.

This is my paternal grandparents' Marriage Certificate dated July 21, 1920. I must apologise for the poor quality but it's a photograph of a photocopy as I no longer have access to the original.

This photograph of the happy couple from the marriage above was taken in 1926, some 6 years (and 3 children) later. My now 89-year-old father is the child being held in her arms by my grandmother.

Judging by the signature, William E could have been left handed.  Actually, they (William and Aimee) look as though both had "educated" writing skills.

It's lovely that you have a copy of the certificate.  And a photo of the family, too.  Well done.

This is a painting of my grandfather. My great grandmother had it painted from an article that appeared in the paper in April 1940 when HMAS Perth docked in Sydney.

Grandpa passed away on Monday at the ripe old age of 92.
