A GROOM who was arrested after a minister refused to marry him because he was allegedly too drunk was inconsolable yesterday.
Still wearing the torn suit in which he was supposed to be married, Semaphore singer and artist Jake Brookes, 40, said yesterday that “all I wanted to do was see my woman”.
As revealed exclusively on Advertiser.com.au , police arrested Brookes after they were called to a disturbance at the Semaphore Uniting Church, on Semaphore Road at Exeter in Adelaide’s west, about 2pm on Saturday.
“I have been dreaming for days and days and days about her beautiful wedding dress,” a tearful and bruised Brookes told Ten Eyewitness News.
“All I wanted was my woman to feel she was queen of the day, man.”

it all depends - he says he wasn't drunk - is the minister qualified to make that call?
if he was drunk thats disrespectful to his bride to be, but if it wasn't a regular occurence then i'd probably think about trying again..

He's going to hate those who put on a bucks party and tied him to a tree a hundred miles away for the night

I guess if he appeared to be drunk and disoriented, there might be a legitimate doubt as to whether h ewas in a condition to understand the promises he was making.
