Lets wait and see how many drop out in the shakeup.

but that is a genuine condition . it is an illness..
prejudice is unhelpful, what if i were to say all suffering from MI should be first on the list ? does it have any more or less validity as a point ?
lol.. I don't care if it is an illness, get over it... go get help.. why should the taxpayer have to pay for anyone to have a drug addiction?
and it is not prejudice, I had an addiction and I never went on welfare. Why should they get a free ride just because they know how to play the system?
I could not get on it when I was unable to work. I could not even walk three house blocks with arthritis and was told that BiPolar did not mean I could not work even though at that time with both conditions flaring up I couldn't. I even had two doctors and two specialists to back me up... Yet have a drug addiction and you get the tick.
it is a prejudice. you named them purely out of prejudice .. and sour grapes by the sound of it.
if it is that simple , why doesn't everyone just get off and straighten up ? because it isn;t that simple. people like you only have sympathy if the condition is the same as yours.. you didn't get it so you go after them.

in addition , as someone who worked in the field of alchohol and drug addiction i can assure you there is No help. there are No rehab places for addicts.

LL a person does not get addicted by accident, it is a conscious choice to partake of addictive substances.
Its like putting your arm in a grinder on purpose and then expecting to be waited on hand and foot for the rest of your days

That sucks catmad. Seems like you needed to appeal their decision not to give you DSP while you were unwell.
I'm a bit divided on the addiction excuse. Serious addiction is a legitimate sickness though IMO. At the same time one would presume that most of their payment would be spent feeding their habit. Unless they are recieving payments while in rehab ect. It's a hard one. These people are vulnerable whether it is self inflicted or not.

s_w in the military a self inflicted wound is punishable. It should be in civilian life too.

thats a ridiculous anology only exceeded by the break -in one you tend to use on every asylum seeker thread. lose the simplistic alleged logic, it hampers real analysis.

Rehab ? where ? there are only rehab places in private clinics generally. odd as it may seem, these people generally cannot afford betty ford.
