Ok. So what do you propose she do? Lets say, for arguments sake, she has given up drinking. But her health is poor and psychologically she is stil struggling with the abuse she underwent as a child. She in unable to hold down a job due to her physical problems and her chronic depression.
Going by your comments, she doesn't deserve any monetary help because she didn't just get on with her life. In all honesty, what happens to her with no income, no benefits, no medical assistance? Do you see the actual real life outcome of your comments that you don't want your money paying for her? Do we just leave her to die because of the traumatic life she struggles to cope with?
Alex if she is no longer an addict then she does not fall into that category anymore. I am discussing addicts and me having to fund their habits

alexander beetle - you are wasting your time (replying)
What happens to drug addicted babies (mothers who were drug addicts) I know they are given methadone soon after they are born.
Do they have to fight off addiction the rest of their life?
Any Govt needs to weed out any people using the system fraudently and getting a Govt benefit when they are not entitled to one. The majority of people receiving them are eligible and entitled to them.

Buzz, and everyone else, may I point out that nowhere did I mention DRUG addiction specifically.
Addiction in any form is a negative attribute, and please dont try on the "addict gene" that does not wash either.

Taxypayers pay income tax, company tax and other forms of tax to the Govt. The Govt distributes that money where they see fit.
An individual taxpayer can't claim to be paying some addict's disability pension

It's not an extreme at all. Every addict has a reason for their addiction. I personally know a number of addicts and the majority have had traumatic histories. Your assertion that addicts choose to get on to welfare to fund their addiction is completely false and is something the msm pushes. Do your research and you will learn it is most certainly not the case.
You haven't answered my question on what happens when we don't fund the medical needs.
The question will not get answered.

Perhaps Mr Poddster could fund a rehab clinic for addicts?
