What are the Evolutionary explanations for Dumb people?

Why are there so many idiotic people around? What evolutionary advantage do they bring out?

I'd add the food we eat. It's already known that some GM food causes problems with our immune system and has been linked to infertility in some women.

The main reason why younger peoples immune systems have problems is because they haven't been allowed to "play" in the enviroment so haven't built up any immunity to it.

There are a range of other health problems too. Now combine that with the chemicals and additives we have in the food, aspartame, anti-caking agents etc., and it's no wonder we're seeing this

Scare mongering has really convinced you hasn't it and that can make you sick as well yet you keep going and going even when others are clearly not interested so maybe find a discussion board where can just keep spreading this garbage and were others may be interested.

So please stop this sort of GARBAGE just so you can try and put YOUR ideas/belief across and so you can bump old threads.

Dear go-tazz, if you take the time to look at the threads in the Community Spirit forum I've replied to, this is the only aged one that I've "bumped up" today. I have an interest in things to do with health and nutrition and I like to discuss them.

BTW: Chemicals and additives in food have been linked to a whole plethora of health issues. This is truth, not scaremongering as you have put it.

I replied to icyfroth who's posts I often find stimulating and have interesting content.

What are your views on chemicals and additives in our food?

More of an obsession of trying to keep your "views" active and cramming them down peoples throats when most have shown no interest in your views.

You bump old or inactive posts to keep your "agenda" going:

Like: Offensive place names. In this day and age I can't believe they are still named as such!

Linked means that people have health problem and they have eaten those foods but  there may not be proof that's what has caused their illness.

The same as cigarette smokers that have never had cancer and others getting cancer when they have never smoked.

Food has labels so if you are concerned check them before buying so that's how people should deal with them apart from that I don't give a toss and I'll keep buy foods that I enjoy.

Sure, sometimes it is hard to find proof that certain foods have direct cause of an illness. But, in a lot of cases, there have been significant findings. The problem is that a lot of studies are industry funded and the outcome is often one that is "kinder" to the industry.

Yes, very true about cigarette smoking. A lot of it has to do with the immune system of the smoker. Some cigarette smokers have had no issues and others sadly have been done in by passive smoke. Other factors need to be taken iinto account as well. Like what kind of diet they have been on over the years. In a town in Japan it was found thatv men who were (possibly) heavy smokers had a lower rate of cancer compared to anywhere else. It was found that they had a certain diet. I'd be willing to bet that this diet boosted their immunity to a degree where their boides were ble to successfully fight the cancer cells.

I do check food in the supermarket and I avoid food that has canola and cottonseed oil as they have both been genetically modified. It has gotten harder and one has to take a magnifying glass with them. My main concern is also for other people who don''t know what to look for. Their health becomes compromised by being ignorant to what's going on. Take anti-caking agent for example. It's in our table salt. Well, it contains aluminium. And aluminium does cause dementia. There is a definite relationship  with our stomach and our mental well-being. There have been accounts of people suffering mental illness who with change of diet, good nutrition have been able to reduce and even go off their medication completely.

It's very sad to see another human being die early on in their life when changes if made early on could have given a different outcome.

Aluminum is a nonessential metal to which humans are frequently exposed. Aluminum in the food supply comes from natural sources, water used in food preparation, food ingredients, and utensils used during food preparations. The amount of aluminum in the diet is small, compared with the amount of aluminum in antacids and some buffered analgesics. The healthy human body has effective barriers (skin, lungs, gastrointestinal tract) to reduce the systemic absorption of aluminum ingested from water, foods, drugs, and air. The small amount of aluminum (<1%) that is systemically absorbed is excreted principally in the urine and, to a lesser extent, in the feces. No reports of dietary aluminum toxicity to healthy individuals exist in the literature. Aluminum can be neurotoxic, when injected directly into the brains of animals and when accidentally introduced into human brains (by dialysis or shrapnel). A study from Canada reports cognitive and other neurological deficits among groups of workers occupationally exposed to dust containing high levels of aluminum. While the precise pathogenic role of aluminum in Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains to be defined, present data do not support a causative role for aluminum in AD. High intake of aluminum from antacid for gastrointestinal ailments has not been reported to cause any adverse effects and has not been correlated with neurotoxicity or AD. Foods and food ingredients are generally the major dietary sources of aluminum in the United States. Cooking in aluminum utensils often results in statistically significant, but relatively small, increases in aluminum content of food. Common aluminum-containing food ingredients are used mainly as preservatives, coloring agents, leavening agents, anticaking agents, etc. Safety evaluation and approval of these ingredients by the Food and Drug Administration indicate that these aluminum-containing compounds are safe for use in foods.
