However, many would be surprised that it is "apparently" widely accepted that kids are becoming sexually active ALOT younger nowadays. From discussions with alot of teens I know the average age is 14yo (later is considered WEIRD)
Hmmm....I dont doubt that some teens may think that but I do not believe in general, teen girls consider not being sexualy active at 14 as weird. I have a 15 yo whose friends do not share that idea. They are from many different cultural backgrounds so maybe that could be a factor as well.
According to Community Services Dept - in Australia the average age boys and girls have their first sexual experience is 16. I think that is actually more realistic.

Year 10 is 14-15yo's
"Soxual activity
Most young people in Years 10 and 12 are soxually active to varying degrees. Selected statistics include: About one in four Year 10 students and half of all Year 12 students have had vaginal intercourse. Of the young people who had ever had sox, about half of the males and 61% of the females had at least one sexual partner in the last year. Between 15% and 19% had two soxual partners in the last year. 37.3% of Year 10 students and 56.7% of Year 12 students have engaged in oral sox. The most recent sexual encounter for about two thirds of young people was with their regular girlfriend or boyfriend. The most recent soxual encounter for 10.8% of teenagers was with someone they had met for the first time, with higher figures for males (18.1%) than females (4.6%). Students in Year 10 are more likely to have had their most recent soxual encounter with someone they met for the first time (15%) than students in Year 12 (7.6%)."

maybe the stats have changed since 2002.....hopefully..

How did they get those stats? They asked people in the age group, the majority of whom do not want to be the only one not active. I doubt they're reliable.
At least that's a relevant C & P though.
