What do smokers think?

Re: What do smokers think?

Daydream, the smoke is just vapour and disappears.  It doesn't smell and there is no chance of second hand smoking.

That was the idea Donna.  I didn't even want to give up smoking at the time but it was supposedly to help me cut down because I was always lighting up whilst I was busy doing other things and letting them burn away.  It didn't really replace the real thing for me though.

Re: What do smokers think?

I have a e- cig and I really like it, better then a normal cig, helps you cut down and has very little smoke that does not smell.

I think the other thing is that smokers are treated like outcasts nowadays so this is a way they can satisfy themselves without upsetting anyone else.

Re: What do smokers think?

j*oono they have been great for me I cut down from 60 real ciggys to 10 a day, I don't want to give up so not trying to but I am happy I can use these everywhere I go and I am saving the money on 5 packs a week at $32 a pack of 50.

I think it is a disgrace if they try to ban them just because some fool did not read the instructions.

I do think the best one is the green smoke though, there are cheaper ones but they were no good.

And I can get menthol.

That's fantastic Margo.  Smoking only 10 a day is a hell of a saving and I bet you feel some health benefits too.

Re: What do smokers think?

Well I feel a bit stupid. I had no idea they had nicotine in them.

I thought it was just some harmless vapour vapour making it more 'real' to help with the hand mouth thing like I did smoking a pencil.

Re: What do smokers think?

Nicotine poisoning describes the symptoms of the toxic effects of consuming nicotine, which can potentially be deadly.[1] Historically, most cases of nicotine poisoning have been the result of use of nicotine as an insecticide.[2][3] More recent cases of poisoning typically appear to be in the form of Green Tobacco Sickness or due to accidental ingestion of tobacco or tobacco products or ingestion of nicotine containing plants.[4][5][6]

The probable lethal dose of nicotine has been reported as between 500 and 1000 mg (Prof. Mayer, How much Nicotine kills a human?. Historical data as between 40 and 60 milligrams (the total amount in about 2 cigarettes if all of the nicotine was absorbed) in adults and about 1 mg/kg in children (less than 1 cigarette) .[7][8][9] Children may become ill following ingestion of one cigarette,[10] ingestion of more than this may cause a child to become severely ill.[11][5] In some cases children have become poisoned by topical medicinal creams which contain nicotine.[12]

People who harvest or cultivate tobacco may experience Green Tobacco Sickness (GTS), a type of nicotine poisoning caused by dermal exposure to wet tobacco leaves. This occurs most commonly in young, inexperienced tobacco harvesters who do not use tobacco.[4][13]

i can see this as a problem , the cartridges or refills may be extremely toxic  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotine_poisoning

Re: What do smokers think?

The Nicotine ones are banned in Australia most likely for that reason.
