I dont know what I was thinking when I said I only collect scrapbook stuff, I walked out of the room to the cabinet full of antique china handed down to me from my relatives. Also got bits in it I have collected over the years, I went mad there for awhile collecting Royal Doulton stuff, that was before my aunt died a couple of yrs. ago leaving me all her china, plus umteen dinner sets..........

I went mad recently and bought a lot of crystal vases from a woman that lives at Olinda, she collects antiques and stuff and she sells on facebook, couldnt help myself, had to have the lot............

Yeah, I am addicted to certain things..........

If you didn't read the threads about the US posters you don't know I'm one of them.

AND I have a question.   What are LOTR weta?

Donna

Hi Donna...LOTR Lord of the Rings, my daughter collects from Weta Workshop in NZ, they do brilliant replicas

though she is not to buy any more until she gets her own home...lol

It's funny how you go through phases of collecting different things at different times. I've done that, but I'm not allowed to any more, no more room.

type it again Donna

I want to know what you said 🙂

I'll TRY to remember.  I type TOO much at one time!

I said too good often indicates it is not an antique.   I mentioned that I originally was going to post another doll which is an antique, including soiled clothing but that the photo was showing too big for the board in the preview.   I  had not been posting photos since eBay changed things a few years ago.    As I was posting the photo I did, I realized I could size the photo down.

Not in the post:   The doll I didn't show is probably the last "good" antique I bought.  She's a K*R toddler.

Oh, I remember what else was in the missing post.   I mentioned her dirty dress and then said but  undressed she is gorgeous (which is what made me pay a fortune for her) but I didn't know if eBay would appreciate a photo of a naked doll on the boards.  You never know with the new rules.

When I bought the vases, hubby said where was I going to put them, yeah, never thought of that, but made room for them, one is really dainty, so using that in the hall way, holds 1 rose or small flower, like camelia, I wouldnt call it a bud vase though, not the right shape, but it is pretty.

Someone mentioned cats.   Lost the dog this past summer.   (she had this LONG tail that destroyed things)    But the cats are why most of my valuable things are not displayed.  Only a few smaller dolls (and as someone said, OTHER stuff) are in a couple of cabinets.

I haven't collected a lot, as tttt said, we have also moved house often, so that puts you off.

I would collect English China, dolls and goodness knows what else if I had the chance, space and $$.

My cousin had her late Mum's crystal,  which all got broken in the Christchurch earthquatke.. very upsetting.
